Irkutsk - Fort Ross

California, 07.19.99.

"Dear Webmaster, Elena and Breck:

I hope this narrative gets posted somewhere - I'd like the parents of the kids to see they are spending their time in SF wisely and educationally:

Hi there! I am Sheryl Cowan, the Fort Ross - Global Village, Administrative Coordinator, but everyone calls me by my nickname "Neo". Sarah Gould-Ginesi, Breck Parkman, and I scheduled the activities the delegates have and will attend.
Many volunteers have been very dedicated to making this cultural exchange a great success.

While in San Francisco, the delegates had some wonderful visits so far:

On July 19th, they went to the Academy of Science and Planetarium in Golden Gate Park. Many thanks to Astronomer Bing Quock for facilitating the visit. The Russian delegates were joined by some American students who went to Irkutsk last year.
All the delegates had a wonderful day learning about such things as marine biology at the aquarium, the earthquake exhibit, and ancient myths in the stars. Later, the delegates also saw American Buffalo (bison) in Golden Gate Park..."
